Horsewomen Stories

Some years ago, the owner/editor of Western Horse Annual asked me to write an article on three amazing horse women who died that year. I wrote the article with facts and details of their incredible lives, then realised I wanted to do more than that. What would those riders want to say if they had the chance to send one last message to their friends and family? I wrote this poem, and I hope I have captured the message we'd want to pass on. It has been used in quite a number of funerals since I've written it - and I am humbled by the fact that people want to use it because it means I have the right message.
