Heavily inspired by Hatorubi no mori e. This story tells of Sickly Mikaela who meets a strange but and the time that they spent together. Felt like I had to put my love for this anime in words. Crudely done cover but the story is rather beautiful.

Author: hey penguins🐧!! so me and my friend really think about this story. we dont want to cry because gin disappeared (or whatever happens to him) so what if we make a another story that have a happy ending (idk if this is going to be a happy ending) but, just enjoy it. Dalam cerpen ini, mengisahkan seorang roh hutan pria yang bisa memiliki wujud seperti manusia dengan perhitungan usia yang berbeda dengan manusia, roh hutan masih bisa berwujud manusia apabila ia tidak bersentuhan dengan manusia. Namun, karena refleks perbuatan Gin yang menolong anak manusia agar tidak terjatuh terbentur tanah, membuat Gin dan Hotaru harus terpisah. Gin kembali ke wujud roh hutan yang asli, yaitu sebuah cahaya seperti kunang dan tidak bisa lagi menemui Hotaru dalam wujud manusia, bahkan tak bisa berbicara dengan Hotaru dalam wujud roh hutan. Walaupun di surat Gin menuliskan ia berharap Hotaru menemukan pria yang bisa membahagiakan dan mencintainya seperti dirinya, namun ia terus berupaya untuk bisa kembali ke wujud manusianya. Gin di dunianya pun berusaha untuk mengembalikan wujudnya agar bisa menjadi seperti manusia kembali, usahanya membuahkan hasil setelah 100 tahun lamanya, hingga ia mendatangi tempat ia menaruh surat sebagai bukti keberadaannya di dunia roh. Itulah yang mempertemukannya dengan Yato, yang ternyata cucu dari Hotaru, bahkan hingga saat ini pun Gin belum mengetahui fakta tersebut dan masih menanti kedatangan Hotaru.
