This is a story of Emily Prentiss and Aaron Hotchner that I created based off the show Criminal Minds. In this story, Emily returns to the team after a mysterious two years away, and finds that Aaron Hotchner is not the same man she thought he was. However, Aaron is not the only who's changed, and it becomes apparent that Emily is hiding something big from the team. Chapter titles are based off songs I listened to while writing!

There's a new agent joining the behavioural analysis unit - SSA Emily Prentiss, daughter of the well known Ambassador Prentiss. Except, she is nowhere near as well known as her mother. Nobody on the team had even heard of her before she joined. Nobody except the BAU's unit chief, SSA Aaron Hotchner. What if Hotch and Emily's story started long before she stepped through the door of his office for the first time? How will they keep their past hidden from the team who profile people every day for a living?

The team gets faced with one of the most challenging cases yet. It involves one of the most viscous unsubs they've ever worked with, Mr.Scratch. The team has no other choice but to ask for help from one of their old coworkers and friend. It's a tough decision to make but he agrees to come back if it'll help save the missing member of their team which is their unit chief, and his old friend, Emily Prentiss. Although he believed going into hiding was the best option for him and his son, he also couldn't let Emily be tortured over something that was his fault.

When things went wrong Emily would just disappear so that she would face her demons; this time she couldn't just turn her back to her team. I'd kill for a margarita!" Garcia's chirpy voice can be heard across the bullpen. "Who's in?" Rossi smiles at everyone. "In for what?" Hotch asks, joining the team by Morgan's desk. "We're uh, all going out for drinks." Emily chimes in, secretly hoping Hotch would join but knowing deep down he never did. "Sure I'll come." Hotch smiles at Emily. She's at a loss for words and Hotch can see the surprised yet eager expression on her face. "Hey, I'm not always so serious ya know."
