Amanda Stein, the young 14 years old adolecente befriends Sally McKenna, resident on the 9th floor, with whom she spends most of her time. The return of The Countess Elizabeth will force the family to leave the hotel, in order to protect their relatives from that threat. James Patrick March, still interested in the young Amanda, makes her one last visit before she left with her family. It's only after 16 years that Amanda returns to the Cortez.
