Dennis Whitaker, just a normal boy from Nebraska. Wrong. Dennis Whitaker, a 26 year old vampire, well he's not 26, more like 260.. but that's beside the point. Freshly moved to Pittsburgh to be a doctor, he makes friends, and enemies... right when his life was in the slumps, an angel, maybe not a literal angel, maybe he was too drunk, but Michael Robinavitch walks into his life, long before he was ever a med student. With his few friends and enemy he must learn to navigate his feelings for this older man.. granted Dennis had been in love before, but nothing like this. This was different.. much different..

In the Pitt, hesitation can cost a life. Dennis Whittaker doesn't hesitate. Not anymore. After a split-second delay during a pediatric code, his attending, Robby, says two words that won't leave him alone: "You hesitated". And when Dennis instinctively reaches to steady him later that shift, Robby steps back with a quiet, sharp "Don't". Dennis adjusts the only way he knows how - silently. He pulls his hands in. Keeps his distance. Stops reaching first. But in a place where bodies collide, and lives hang in the balance, distance isn't as simple as stepping back. Because sometimes it only takes half a second to save someone. And half a second to lose something you didn't realize you wanted. This is my first ever fic, so don't expect too much. I'm also a first-semester nursing student, so there may be some medical inaccuracies; just bear with me. The writing will probably get better as time goes on and I get into a rhythm. Robby is a doctor at the Pittsburgh hospital (the pitt). he's the head of the hospital/the boss. one day, three med students have their first shift at the pitt, which includes a guy named Dennis Whitaker. Robby's eyes landed on Dennis and he developed strange feelings. he's never felt like this before, he's been of plenty of girls, no guys. he's straight, or so he thinks. he hasn't been or tried to get in a relationship for 6 years, not after he had a divorce with his wife. so why does he feel like this?
