Peculiarity. A peculiar is a child, animal or human, that is born with a certain distinctness to them. Some may be invisible, as light as air, unusually strong, or seemingly normal until you touch the back of their skull. These "traits" usually skip a generation or two and are very terrifying to normals. How do you know if your child, or you, are gifted with a peculiarity? You don't. How do peculiars deal with normals or the other way around? Again, you don't. Peculiars hide in a time loop, It's a re-run of the day the loop was set on, Nobody gets older, younger, or changes at all. It's perfect.

Sally Sauter had lived a normal life with her parents and little brother. Everything was picture perfect until she turned six. That's when everything changed. See, Sally had believed herself to be perfectly ordinary until a scary bully changed that. It hadn't been on purpose, of course. It had sort of just... happened. The bully had pushed her, Sally had panicked and then... she'd turned into a shadow.

+++ People were often called fragile. In most cases, it was a term used to describe someone's emotional status or physicality. But obviously, saying a person was fragile was different than saying an object was fragile, like a glass for example. However, in Kaylee's case, describing her as fragile was like describing glass. Because she actually was; she was made of glass. Being made of glass comes with lots of challenges, and when her life suddenly changes and she has to move into Miss Peregrines' loop, even more challenges present themselves. Quickly, she not only has a whole new world to discover with dangers she never could've imagined, but she also catches the eye of the loops' lovely headmistress. +++ Based on the movie rather than the books. May have some elements of the books. The reason is simply when I started this I only really knew the movie, and I feel like Movie Miss P is a better fit for a story with this setup :). Any book elements will probably have to do with me reading them and going Hey! Hugh sighed "it's not that interesting" letting a bee out of his mouth as he spoke. The small creature landed on prim's finger making her giggle. "Well I think it's beautiful, does this little guy have a name?" "Henry" "So what about you?" Hugh said, the little bee flying back to him "telekinesis." Prim mumbled, it was a touchy subject "woah that's so cool" "not when you can't control it" prim sighed picking some grass and twirling it around her finger, this fact wasn't something she was proud of. She had tried for so long with miss dove to work on her peculiarity but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't. She couldn't do it on will like others, it was like prims peculiarity had a mind of its own and to be completely honest, it scared her. So she just shut it out, she hadn't even shared this much with some people she had known for longer than Hugh, but for some reason she felt comfortable with him, they already had a bond somehow. after that the two children continued their small talk with no more mention of peculiarities as Hugh realised she clearly didn't want to talk about it, bees occasionally flew around them, but primrose didn't mind as suddenly, it wasn't awkard anymore.
