"Kaia, long time no see." He started to make his way towards me, arms open as if he wanted a hug. I instinctively held the water out in between us, trying to keep him away. Even though I was drunk, I knew giving Simon a hug would lead to many emotions I didn't want to feel, especially for him.
"Yeah... Well, I better be getting back to my friends. Thank you for the water." I said the words to the mystery guy next to me, but I remained focused on Archie's red hair in the crowd. I took a step towards the crowd when a hand wrapped around the crease of my elbow. I turned, seeing Simon hold my arm.
"Please, let go."
"No, I want to talk to you."
"Well I have nothing to say, please let go of my arm." A hand appeared on Simon's shoulder, and a figure took a step in between us.
"Hey man, she asked you to let go of her." I looked at this man, who by the voice I knew he was the water bottle man.
Now my eyes were able to focus on him, and my eyes widened. He was beautiful. His almond shaped eyes were slightly overshadowed by his thick eyebrows. His black hair curving down his head, peaking out just a little below his ears. And he was tall. Damn was he tall.
Simon looked over at the water bottle man, seemingly sizing him up before letting go of my arm and walking away. I sighed and turned to this man, smiling.
"Thank you. For that, and for this bottle." I looked in his eyes, his milk chocolate eyes. They were like the chocolate river in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Idk maybe I'm hungry. Or drunk. Or both.
"You're welcome." He smiled down at me, his smile never quite reaching his eyes.
"I swear he's not normally like that, he's just drunk."
"Not everyone here is who they pretend to be."
