This is a fantasy, and a bit of a young adult, book about a young girl named Adaylnn Hart and her adventure to survive The Trials after her mother passed away. Along the way, she goes head to head against a boy name Theodore. That was, until they realized they should team up again. Now, it's all about survival. This is a book with a 'Powerless' kind of feel from the author, Lauren Roberts. Please know this is only my first draft, and if you have any great ideas for edits, please do comment them! I rush through the woods hearing and sensing the monsters behind me. "They are gaining on me!" I thought. With blazing speed I flip myself over a small wall of stones. All the while throwing a flaming dagger in the direction I thought they were in. Through the bushes I see a faint red glow as the mechanical monster raises up on its hind legs. "Oh shit! I'm screwed." I picked myself up and continued to run only to trip over a rock that I swear is out to get me. The monster, tall in height when on its hind legs was pretty low to the ground when on all fours. Yet it had a misty darkness clouding itself from view and preventing any light from escaping.

It seems that a jealous god has sought to visit the sins of the father upon her, but so has everyone else. She is the victim of serendipity, but also of cover ups, the duplication of thin evidence and exaggeration. But she is also heartless, treacherous, self indulgent and without shame.
