Because every time a Blessing child had volunteered for the Hunger Games, they didn't just win - they entertained.

The Survival Games were created after a rebellion nearly destroyed the nation. Now they serve as a warning. Every year, one hundred children are chosen to fight in an arena where only one can survive. When a young girl from District 11 is selected during the Reaping, she is forced to leave behind the life she knows and enter the most dangerous game in the world. In the arena, every decision matters. Trust can save you -or destroy you. And the line between survival and sacrifice is thinner than anyone expects. Because once the Games begin, there is no escape. Only the fight to become the last tribute standing.

Setting: A century after the fall of the original Panem, the new regime-the Golden Dominion-has rebuilt society into a glittering, oppressive empire where wealth, status, and "approved" identities rule. The Capitol is a dazzling city of gold spires and endless parties, while the outer Provinces are left to scrape by. Same-gender love, gender diversity, and any identity outside the Dominion's strict rules are labeled "treasonous" and punished with public display or death. Every four years, the Gilded Games are held: a brutal spectacle where tributes from each Province fight to the death-this time, twisted to target anyone seen as "different."
