This story takes place ten years after the death of Arthur Pendragon. At first, Merlin thought it impossible to return to Camelot without Arthur so he wandered, growing stronger as the days continue. After four long years, he made the decision to save a couple Camelot Knights and returned with them to Camelot where Queen Guinevere ruled in Arthur's place. The memories of his past still haunt him as he is welcomed warmly by the Queen along with her first born son, Asher Pendragon. With Merlin back to help Asher grow into the man he is to become, having to protect Arthur's legacy from people who wish harm to come to the remaining Pendragons. Will he be able to escape his past? Or will Merlin face the consequences of his actions by endangering all of Camelot? Unfortunately, it is not a Merthur story but it's a continuation of the show, starting after Arthur's death. I was unhappy at how the show ended and decided to give it an ending that it so much deserves. Hopefully I can make it as good as the show but that's only a wish. Anyways, hope y'all enjoy the story!

Morgana decides that she is tired of looking for Emrys. She burns down Ealdor and all its people, except Hunith, taking her as a hostage. She then arrives to Camelot, and tries to make a deal with Merlin and Arthur. But she makes a big mistake. When Merlin realizes what actually happened at Ealdor, he forgets all about hiding who he is. There is nothing for him to lose, and he no longer cares about destiny.

Past: " Father I can't control it!" the young prince yelled as the fear of losing control took over. The fire that embedded his fingers quickly took arson. Merlin tried and tried he even tried to switch hands, but with his luck there was no avail. The fire escalated and engulfed Merlin himself, but it wasn't only him. "Father? Father? FATHER!!!" Present: Arthur and Samuel was the first to unshield their eyes and stand up first. The others followed after. They all stopped. Taking in the shocking sight before them. " Merlin!?" With Uther dead and Arthur as the King of Camelot, he finds himself under more stress and pressure than he was before. Eager to please his people, Arthur begins to dedicate every breath to helping Camelot thrive after his father's death, and he vows to find this sorcerer that is responsible for Uther's death. However, with all of his time dedicated to helping Camelot, he has very little time for his friends like Merlin. And when Merlin becomes a growing concern to the king, he has to figure out where Merlin's place in his heart is. Is he a friend or much, much more?

Coping with the end of the show by sharing ideas of mine for this world. No smut, I'm not comfortable writing like that yet, at least not in detail.

OR Merlin falls off a cliff and Arthur learns that it's not the first time this has happened. So, Merlin tells Arthur a tale from when he was a boy.

The battle at Camlann is over and Merlin eagerly awaits the return of Arthur and his knights. But sorrow can come to any kingdom no matter how happy and so it came to Camelot A/N - In this story Lancelot and Elyan are still alive, and Gwaine does not die.
