Giesa never expected her reward after exercising would change everything.
Twenty years old, dressed in jogging clothes and taking a break after her workout, she opened her tablet and replayed one of her childhood favorites, the Hunter Exam arc of Hunter × Hunter, the endless run she had watched countless times before.
She hadn't seen it in a while.
The moment the screen showed the beginning of the first exam, she reached out. Then she touched the screen.
And fell through it. When she opened her eyes, she wasn't in her room anymore. She stood among hundreds of Hunter applicants. A metal badge was pinned to her clothes.
Number 11. Her birthday.
Confused, she looked down at herself- smaller hands. Shorter height. She wasn't twenty anymore. She was eleven.
The same age she had been when she first discovered Hunter × Hunter. At first, she laughed. Obviously, this had to be a dream. A weird, nostalgic dream made from childhood memories.
So she ran.
Thinking it wasn't real, Giesa quietly followed the exam, choosing to stay in the background and finally see her favorite characters with her own eyes. She watched from the sidelines, careful not to interfere with the story she already knew.
After all, she wasn't the protagonist. She was just a girl lucky enough to witness it. But stories are different when you're living inside them. As the hours pass and reality refuses to break, when exhaustion never comes, when pain starts feeling real, and when staying unnoticed becomes impossible
Giesa begins to wonder:
If this is only a dream... why does it feel more real than her actual life? And what happens when someone who grew up loving a story... accidentally becomes part of it?
