What once was lost will soon be found. Hunter Noceda always knew he was different than everybody else. And he knows next to nothing about where he came from before he was adopted as a baby. But one day, a small owl leads Hunter into another world of magic and fearsome creatures. There, he meets a witch and a little demon who take him into their whimsical house. Hunter can't help but feel like he belongs to the demon realm in some way. And under the guidance of his new eccentric guardian, the boy learns the art of witchcraft in hopes of finding his identity. But there also dark secrets about himself that Hunter may not be ready for. What will become of the teenage witch?

Luz Noceda works at a wonderful store called Hot Topic with her co-workers, King Clawthorne, Hooty, and Edalyn Clawthorne, her manager. But, being in a populated mall, you don't really get to decide who you work by. Amity Blight works at Claire's, the accessory store with her co-workers, Boscha, and Skara, her manager being a woman named Lilith Clawthorne. Though, you only read books for fluff, this one has some angst sprinkled on top. Overworked, understaffed, working hard to reach end's meet. Luz slowly starts to realize that she can fight for herself. Hooty doesn't have to be the joker. King can quit work because he's just eight! And Owlbert can learn to speak up after all these years.
