Short story based on the life of an abused hunting dog. IMAGES ARE NOT MINE!! Please bare with me and my terrible writing, its my first story :)

Jaden, newly single the only reason she didn't put a bullet in her head was Shadow, a blue heeler black lab mix. Shadow was just that, her shadow, the only companion dedicated for life who wouldn't reject her and would love her unconditionally. Alaric made a promise, one he hates but intends to keep even if it takes him down the path he ran from in the first place. He gave up on finding his mate years ago. He picked a pack that maybe he could help, and dedicated his life to them. He would be their protector, comforter, counselor, anything they could possibly need. Then he met her, the person he was supposed to dedicate his life to, but skeletons in the closet haunt both their minds and their nightmares. ⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️: this book will include VERY dark things. Mentions of rape, animal cruelty, and torture will be included. If these things bother you, do not read, this is not the book for you.

Zach had a pack, his pack left him in the middle of the night without his knowledge. He is now a lone wolf that explores the snowy fields. He eventually finds a mate, her name is Nala. Nala isn't like any other wolf, and Zach finds that out when Nala does something that no other wolf has seen before.
