"I was seven when we moved to Chicago. Florida went under water when I was six. After that, my life was never the same again." After 2012, everything changes for Declare and her family. Money gets changed. America is at war with China, now the biggest economy in the world. A national draft has been issued. Natural disasters are habitual phenomenons. For Declare, these changes inadvertently result in tragedy. Now, as a refugee from her flooded home, Declare fights to find the rest of her loved ones and more importantly, fights to endeavor through an ever changing society that may just be coming to an end.

Delilah Slavin is the younger sister of Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin. After moving to Raleigh from her hometown in Denver, Colorado, she eyes one particular person all throughout the party that her brother hosted for moving to North Carolina. It was practically love at first sight for Delilah, but one thing was going to throw off the entirety of her crush on the man, who later she learns to be one of her brother's teammates from the Hurricanes: her brother restricted her from having any sort of relationship besides friendship with his teammates.
