The name 'The Tents We Call Home' represents the idea that home isn't a place, but it's the people you find and the safety you create. (CHARACTER STORYS) --Gon in this story was raised by Ging, and he didn't take care of Gon properly cause Ging cared more about work than Gon, and he left home at the age of 14. --Killua got abused by his parents so he could become 'stronger' and he went through many problems in his home life, he then took his sister Alluka and left at the age of 14 and Alluka 11 (Nanika is part of the story at some point) --Kurapika came home to his whole family slaughtered and left home cause he didn't have anyone or anywhere and left at the age 15 --Leorio grew up poor with his family, he left like a burden and decided to run away so his family didn't have to worry about him and ran away at 16 (not so important) --Retz left her brother to do her own thing (no trauma, I don't know her story, and i don't want to make one up) she left at the age of 13. --anita left home after her father died from an assassin. she left at 15 (she's from the 1999 hxh) --zushi was from another country, and then his father sent him away because he didn't care. he got kicked out at 11 --canary just left, no backstory, she doesn't share it. age 12 The all meet Bisky at some point who runs the circus, and he makes them all costumes (I can't find photos 😭) and they all get there rolls and preform for many people, and they all become really close. read the story to find out more (7/15/25) -#2 in hxhau (11/13/25)

Since Killua turned 3, he started getting these urges. Urges to jump off high places, urges to sink a razor into his skin, urges to drink toxic substances, and more. As a child he had to be kept on a tight leash because he kept 'accidently hurting himself'. Falling into ditches, cutting himself on sharp edges, trying to drink thinks like dish soap and eat things like random pills he always found lying around on high surfaces. It wasn't until he turned 12 that his parents realized it wasn't just simple curiosity, but something else entirely.

She's in there. I can tell by the fingerless glove by my feet. I can tell by the day old scent of candy perfume. I can tell by the violent shouting. And I'm out here. Pretty much what the title says. Instead of becoming a hunter Ging convinces Gon to join the Phantom Troupe. Hisoka hates Gon. Chrollo is Gon's uncle? Illumi just wants to make money and help society. Phinks loves his cars. Kurapika runs a doughnut shop. Same old same old Big Hero 6. This is pretty much a crack idea I had at two in the morning.

But when a ray of sunshine walks in with girlfriend and zero knowledge about the difference between eyeliner and mascara, Killua doubts a tube of lipgloss can get rid of this strange sensation in his heart.
