The Potter's (James' parents) moved to France after their only son and their daughter in law went into hiding with their second oldest Harry James Potter. They had left their youngest (Henry), with his parents and their oldest (Harmony) with Severus (much to James' demise). Though Severus so badly wanted to take care of Harmony he was not able to. Between His job at Hogwarts, and his loyalty to the dark lord he didn't have time.
