Every summer, the island of Ibiza fills with people looking to become someone else for a season. For Marco, a bartender at a cliff-top bar in Sant Josep, that is exactly the point. For four years the island has given him what he needed most: anonymity, routine, and the unspoken agreement that nobody asks questions.
Then Isla Voss walks in.
She is a wealthy Dutch regular who comes to Ibiza for the light, not the parties. Quietly watchful, self-contained, and carrying something she has been carrying for a long time. She orders without looking at the menu. She tips without looking at the amount. She comes back the next evening, and the one after that.
What follows is a slow, charged summer of cliff-top evenings, hidden coves, and candlelit dinners in the ancient walled town. Two people who are drawn to each other in spite of themselves, circling something neither of them is quite ready to name.
But Marco is keeping a secret. And the longer the summer runs, the more the secret costs him.
My Summer in Ibiza is a slow-burn literary romance set against the heat and beauty of the Mediterranean. It is a novel about the person you were before, the person you became after, and whether love can survive the distance between the two.
