It is with a feeling of gratitude to Almighty Allah that we welcome the publication of this modest work of compilation on the biography of Muslim scholars and scientists. This book is an attempt to instill the feeling of 'izzah' (greatness)of the achievement of our past scholars and scientist, neither to be left alone as mere past history nor to be boasted off, but more importantly, to act as a catalyst to motivate us and the future generation to lead the revival of scholastic attitude and scientific advancement in this modern age. Islam had patronized and fostered the Greek scientific heritage in the field of medicine, astronomy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and philosophy. Islam continued to add new scientific achievements which bear witness that Muslims were deeply and seriously interested in scientific research. It was on the cream of the Islamic scientific achievement of Andalusia that the European Renaissance and its modern scientific inventions were based and we purposely use the term 'Biografie' (Spanish word) instead of 'Biography' to signify this important contribution. It is a great blessing for us to be able to share with others any benefits one can achieve by reading this book. Despite the computer era, we felt that this book may serve the professional and the general public in a more practical and accessible way. It is August 1987 and Ricardo "Ricky" Villalobos is 15 years old and from Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ricky is the eldest of two kids, and has a younger sister named Lorena. Reeling from the loss of his mother, Ana Laura, months earlier, Ricky looks to love as means to heal his broken heart, and meets small town girl Ana Adriana Moreno, who is looking for a modeling job to make money for her single parent family. Ricky then finds out that Ana is the daughter of one of his dad's late employees, who died in a car crash when Ana was just 6 years old. Ana then meets a tall, handsome guy from Santurce who also happened to be son on her dad's former boss. What will the unpredictable future hold for Ricky and Ana Adriana?

"This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray." And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah. Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah." [Surah Al-Anaam (6: 77 to 79)] And his people argued with him. He said: "Do you argue with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; then will you not remember? And how should I fear what you associate while you do not fear that you have associated with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority? So which of the two parties has more right to security, if you should know? They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice - those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided. And that was Our [conclusive] argument which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise by degrees whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing." [Surah Al-Anaam (6: 80 to 83)] In that debate, Ibrahim (A.S.) clarified to his people that these celestial bodies do not serve as deities and cannot be worshipped as partners with Allah. Indeed, these bodies are created things, fashioned, controlled, managed and made to serve. They appear sometimes and disappear at others, going out of sight from our world. However, Allah does not lose sight of anything, and nothing can be hidden from Him. He is without end, everlasting without disappearance. There is no other deity but Allah.
