Princess Zoia was much like the Sun. She was bright, cheerful, a golden child, a ray of sunshine. People basked in the warmth of her smiles, talked about her with fondness, complained on the days they couldn't see her. And yet they never saw her properly, blinded by her light, concealing the raging flames underneath that burned anyone who got too close.
Selene bore more resemblance to the Moon. She was quiet and calm, the kind of friend one reaches out to when troubled, as she could listen like nobody else. Firm in her decisions, stronger than many of the kingdom's greatest warriors, yet beautiful in her own, delicate way. And despite all that, if it wasn't for the Princess's light reflecting off her, nobody would notice she's there.
They started off as complete strangers to each other, but some form of a higher being clearly insists that they drift closer.
