Katarina's dreams and her real life have both turned into nightmares. When she sleeps, she must endure horrific events through the eyes of the victims of a vicious murderer and experiences every painful act predicated upon them. When she is awake, she must deal with the reality of her mother's recent passing and her father's sudden infatuation with his new, opportunistic girlfriend, her mother's best friend Linda. Through it all, Katarina just wants her teenage crush, a handsome young man named Mark Cooper, to notice her, no matter what it takes.
