Jeremiah Constantine Marquez trusts what can be measured. Deadlines can be met. Systems can be improved. Pressure can be distributed until even the heaviest load becomes manageable. Feelings are less reliable, especially when affection exists without the certainty to sustain it. Years after leaving Idaho, Jeremiah has built a life around competence. Engineering taught him how structures endure. Law school teaches him how institutions protect themselves. Somewhere between the two, he becomes the person everyone depends on: composed, useful, and almost impossible to interrupt. Then a professional opportunity disrupts the routine he has spent years perfecting. What begins as a manageable change in schedule gradually unsettles the assumptions holding the rest of his life together. Because Jeremiah knows how to survive uncertainty. He knows how to remain functional under pressure. What he does not know is what to do with care that asks him for neither performance nor proof.

This historical fiction novel tells the story of an Idaho family's encounter with a Nez Perce tribal leader and the revealing of a sacred site that lies along the South Fork of the Boise River. The local power company plans to destroy the site by building a dam. The father in the family works for the power company and finds himself in a crisis of conscience. The story contains two flashbacks that show the conflicts between the Nez Perce and Shoshone tribes and the early British trappers and American soldiers.

Do you ever get sick and tired of the same old Twilight remake fan fictions? I know I do. It always goes team werewolf or team vampire. Bella is an idiot and blah blah blah. Well I'm going to be the change I want to see in the world......OK I'm just being dramatic. But I've written a remake that isn't just like the others. There aren't any werewolves sorry! But the 'Bella' of the story is so much more likeable. Names Kaytavia. The 'Edward' of the story named Elizah. There really isn't a Jacob but there's Sean. High school quarterback. ;) I also added another likeable and colorful vampire named Imogen. This should be interesting eh?

Hallie Sawyer had a simple life. She had crushes on the hottest guys, great best friends, and a loving family. All of this gets turned upside down when one of her friends, Isabel dies from a defective explosive in an old mine. 13 years later, Hallie goes back down near the old mine and sees Isabel, as a ghost. Isabel tells her that the the defective explosive didn't just explode. It was purposely set on fire by none other than Isabel's parents. Meanwhile, while Hallie's questioning this conclusion, Hallie's love life is getting out of hand. Chase, her fiancee, whose always been the sweetest guy, gets a hint that maybe Hallie doesn't trust him fully. Her mixed emotions are causing her to question their future together. After it goes a little too far, she decides to stick with Chase, that is until she meets Liam. AUTHORS NOTE: Hey, so I hope you like it. I know it isn't great but it's an idea I have been working on. My grandparents actually live in Colorado and we visit them once in a while. I love it up there and I would live there myself. Idaho Springs is a small town in Colorado thats always been close and we have visited it every now and then admiring its quaint beauty. I want you to know that most of the places in this book are real like Java Mountain Roasters and the old mines. The history is all true and is not made up so I wanted to make sure you knew that. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!
