This is fiction and only fiction although IPF is a real disease, Alex Bourroway is not a real person, Although she is very much so based on a real person named Alexandria Anne Rockwell who battled cystic fibrosis and died a few years ago. Most of the pictures and some of the cover arts are indeed of Alexandria Rockwell because she is my idol. She was so strong and deserved more time than she got. Breathe easy Alex.

IPF affects about 5 million people worldwide, and its prevalence is higher among people above 50 years of age.
