In which two people learn compassion and make peace. Damien Clasp has created the most masterful of games. He has learned that you can have anything you want, if you know the right people. He also knows something the others don't. He knows how to win. You see, in order to win, you must be both careless and alone. Any other could be a liability. Others who try to play his game don't succeed. They get caught up in the web of emotions. They are weak, easily distracted. He has risen to the top. He doesn't have a care in the world; he has all the connections he needs to keep himself out of trouble. His gang, simply called The Crown, is made of only the best. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure, he has other, lesser people running around, but the inner circle, the elite, are the best of the best. He's never looked back. Ash Cress is rich. That's it. She's rather sharp, and has quite the attitude to match. Her eyes seem to cut into your soul, and her words are specifically chosen to do so. She's not the heir to her father's many companies; she has an older brother, who happens to be a perfect paragon. She wasn't supposed to exist, until a drunken night between her parents. They didn't even want her, until they realized that it's good to have a back-up, in case the first doesn't make it. There's nothing good about her, except her money. After all, isn't that why he left her? ---- This was originally supposed to be a different type of story, so I'll probably change the description later, as well as edit the story. Also keep in mind that while I tried to do my research, anything and everything about this story and the bits of information I'm relying on could be completely wrong.

Here we are on the very mundane streets of London, England. Gray streets filled with endless lines of bustling traffic. The bittersweet aroma of coffee wafts into the air as busy workers wearing bleak coats of gray rush through the cobbles, pushing and shoving against each other, trying to get to their destinations . It's a normal cloudy day here in the city of London, but I guess I, Piper Shay, wouldn't know that, given that I've just moved here from the always sunny California. I've always looked odd for a California girl considering my lack of tan, fake platinum blonde locks, and assets. I sport more of the delicate, fragile girl look due to my cerulean-blue eyes, long wavy blonde locks, and slim figure with the whopping height of 5"3. Me and my sister moved out here in England for her job transfer for some record label. I was here to have a fresh start. Get a job, get a few friends, and who knows, maybe even something more.
