Ang storyang ito ay nasa panahon ng pananakop ng mga espanyol sa Pilipinas. Iikot ito sa isang dalaga na lalaban para sa kaniyang pag-ibig ano man ang maging kapalit. Sa kabila ng pagkakalayo ng kanilang antas ng pamumuhay hindi ito naging sagabal upang abutin ang ano mang naisin ng dalawang taong may malalim na pag-ibig. Manalo kaya ang dalawang pusong nag-iibigan sa lupit ng tadhana o sasabay na lamang sila sa agos ng buhay. Si Florencia ay mula sa kilalang pamilya sa lungsod ng Malolos, mahuhulog siya sa unang pagkakataon kay Ignacio na isang manggagawa ng kanilang hacienda. Mapagtagumpayan kaya nilang malampasan ang mga hamon at masira ang mataas na bakod ngayong nakatakdang ikasal si Florencia sa isa sa mga kilalang tao sa Bulakan?
