Skylar has spent an entire summer at home reading books after just moving to Evermyth, her new town. At fourteen in eighth grade, nothing important really happens. Well, she did have to babysit her seven year old brother, Leo, but that's about it. Her first day of school she learns that lunch is stupid and decides to hang out in the library. On her second day of school, she still does that, but she meets some interesting people. These interesting people lead her to a somewhat normal sounding job, at a peculiar place. But the job turns out to be less normal than she thought.
