He expected to become the forgotten god. Instead, he inherited the greatest kingdom in creation. A man from the modern world awakens as Hades, moments after Zeus frees his siblings from Kronos. Armed with modern knowledge of civilisation, governance, architecture, and history, he quickly realises mythology got one thing wrong. The Underworld isn't the worst realm. It's the most valuable. While Zeus celebrates atop Olympus and Poseidon dreams of Atlantis, Hades quietly transforms an empty wasteland into the greatest civilisation in creation. Cities replace barren caverns, justice replaces arbitrary judgment, reincarnation replaces endless stagnation, and libraries, universities, industries, and thriving societies give every soul purpose after death. Long before the Olympians recognise humanity's potential, Hades teaches the first mortals how to read, write, build cities, create laws, and govern themselves. Cave dwellers become flourishing civilisations centuries ahead of their time, while temples dedicated to the Chthonic Gods spread across the world through respect rather than fear. As worship empowers the gods and every mortal soul ultimately belongs to the Underworld, Zeus slowly realises the truth: the quiet brother everyone pitied, the commander who truly won the Titanomachy, and the king who smiled when given the "worst" realm had planned everything from the beginning. Sometimes the greatest victory isn't winning the throne everyone wants. It's recognising the value of the throne everyone else overlooked. What to Expect Kingdom-building • Competent SI Hades • Greek Mythology • Politics • Architecture • Civilization Building • Long-Term Planning • A Reimagined Underworld This is an original work; any ideas are either mine or inspired. In the latter case, an acknowledgement will be given.

This is heavily inspired by the Iliad and Odyssey, but it won't be just a copy-and-paste of it. It's INSPIRED. It's more so a royal AU of sngy. Idk if anyone still reads on WattPad, but I might upload this on AO3 sometime, this is more of a demo. Yes, it has an OC sneak in, HOWEVER, I'll rly try to add her as little as possible. Since most people don't like OCs. I just needed her because no other character could portray her role.

"You cannot die before me". He says it like an order because asking would expose how afraid he is. --- Kleon grows up marked by fire, shame, and a hatred of Sparta he does not know how to survive. Xanthos is everything he is not: beautiful as Apollo, beloved, and seemingly destined for glory. First his rival, then his closest companion, and eventually the only man who can look at Kleon's fury and still see the burnt child who loves the fire that lies beneath the feared warrior. When the Sacred Band of Thebes is formed, they swear to fight side by side. It should have been simple: love one another, defend Thebes, survive. Or so Plato said. But love cannot undo what their fathers made of them. It cannot bring back the dead. And it cannot stop Philip of Macedon. From Leuctra to the field of Chaeronea, Phyros is the story of two boys growing up among the shadows of Heroes and the expectations of a whole city, and of two men who find salvation neither in virtue nor in glory, but in the imperfect, stubborn act of choosing one another again and again. But the price of glory was always going to be them. They were taught to die for Thebes, but no one taught them how to survive loving each others.

"You'll go somewhere else in September," she said. This meant, You will not finish your freshman year. It was April. I nodded, mutely, and that was the end of it. (In which there are girls' boarding schools, Achilles' truest flaw is wrath, and Greek tragedies are not allowed to be anything but.) (Basically, the Iliad, but what if everyone was a girl, and also, it's modern times, and also also, it's set at a girls' boarding school?) (Crossposted from AO3)

The (disjointed) story of Homer's The Iliad, told in 26 paragraphs. In each paragraph, every word begins with the same letter, starting at A in paragraph 1, Z in paragraph 26. So sorta-kinda like a lipogram? Previously published in Zoetic Press's Nonbinary Review, Issue 4, "Bullfinch's Mythology". VERY inspired (and a bit derivative of) Christian Bök's Eunoia.

Before You Read: This is a fanfiction retelling inspired by Epic The Musical and The Odyssey, but it takes creative liberties with both the plot and the characters. One major change: Diomedes is reimagined as the antagonist-and as a love interest. If you're expecting a faithful adaptation, this version will surprise you. ────────────────────────────────── No Oaths Between Us Diomedes is a warrior with one burning desire: to be remembered. Isolated, hardened, and overlooked, he dreams of glory before death. But no matter what he does, it's Odysseus-the cunning, celebrated hero-who wins the praise of history. Resentful and desperate to claim a legacy of his own, Diomedes sets out to kill the man who overshadows him. But fate intervenes. The assassination fails, and Diomedes ends up entangled in Odysseus's long, dangerous journey home to Ithaca. Forced to travel together, the two clash constantly-Diomedes cold and self-serving, Odysseus warm-hearted and loyal to his men. Yet somewhere between battles and betrayals, longing begins to bloom. What starts as rivalry slowly unravels into something deeper-conflict giving way to connection, hatred turning into something far more complicated. As both men face gods, monsters, and the ghosts of their pasts, they're forced to ask: Can love survive a war-torn world? And can two enemies learn to rewrite their fates-together? This is an ongoing, reimagined tale of rivalry, survival, and forbidden romance at the heart of an epic.

PJO AU Achilles and Patroclus in the Trojan War. They reunited in Elysium. Now, they're back in the realm of the living, reborn with new names and lives, but with a vow to each other to meet again. The fateful day comes when the boys both happen to be at a mythological summer camp for demigods--which both boys happen to be. But with threats of war, death, and destruction on the rise, they must face their true reality: their lives and love are destined for tragedy. ** Most of this is very much inspired and/or taken from pieces of literature. Characters belong to Homer and the setting to Rick Riordan. Only the characters of Tristan Arista and Leo Skops (and their families) belong to me! **
