After America Singers wedding to Maxon Shreave, we don't know that much of what happened. In this story we will find out the hardships that they went through and the love that was shown.

Since he finally came of age, Crown Prince Tyler Lockem of Illéa is forced to hold a Selection of his own. After noticing for years he sees how unhappy his parents are together and can only see downfall in his risky game of love. His biggest worry: not being able to truly open his heart to someone. This creates a question that he's not sure he knows the answer to: What Is Love? ***the idea of the Selection comes from Kiera Cass. While the characters are mine, the society layout belongs to her. I recommend reading her books because they are awesome.

This is a fanfiction based on the incredible Selection trilogy by Kiera Cass. It's an alternate ending, Maxon chose Kriss because he was heartbroken over America and the king and queen weren't killed. This is a multiple perspective story, flipping between Maxon and America, and the occasional extra characters. What will happen? Note: If you haven't read 'The One' yet, I wouldn't advise reading this as some of the story may not make sense. All rights belong to Kiera Cass.

America Singer worked hard through her teen years to help support her family in the expensive providence of Angeles. She worked as a piano player and singer at a local club in the downtown area. One night a newcomer came in and America couldn't get him out of her head. Over the next few months, America and Max fall in love, but when she finds out that he is the youngest prince of Illea and that he is to be betrothed to the French princess, America springs into action and signs up for the Selection, a competition to win the heart of Prince James, Maxon's brother. She knows that its wrong and possibly a long shot, but she knows that she has to get into the palace just to be able to see him again. Will she be able to have her happily ever after, or will fate and politics get in the way?

I was inspired to write this book by 'Peanut Butter Fingerprints', however, I have tried my best to make the story my own, and not copy @maxerica_lives' book, I apologise for any similarities that may appear as though I have copied her wonderful story, that was never my intention.
