Heat crept up your neck and settled on your cheeks as you blushed. You didn't dare pull away, for some odd reason. "Catch up, we have food to hunt." Odysseus, your captain said flatly, a bit annoyed by Polites' clingy behavior with you, which he thought was distracting you from your navigation tasks. --- ɪɴ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ╰┈➤ You are the navigation officer of the six-hundred men that were brought to war, embark on a treacherous and arduous journey with Odysseus of Ithaca. His third-in-command, Polites, seems to be shifting a bit closer to you by each day. Monsters and divine interventions are a never ending nuisance, especially since Hermes has taken a liking to bothering Odysseus, which means bothering his closest friends too. (EPIC: The Musical is not mine! This is merely a fanfiction that I made to comfort myself of Polites the Pancake's death. What if instead of Achilles, a son of Hades fought the Trojans? Was given the choice between a short glorious life, or a long life in obscurity? And, instead of a childhood friend, fell in love with a priest of Apollo who he'd captured as a spoil of war? This is a Nico x Will love story reimagined as Achilles x Patroclus in the book Song of Achilles. It's slow burn, high yearning. Characters are not mine. They belong to Rick Riordan (and some are Homer's).

Ancient Greece. The age of heroes. The violent, destructive outpouring of the Trojan war. A reimagined ending. And something softer, budding beneath the blood-soaked soil, a love between the great war hero Achilles and shy, awkward Patroclus. A death undone. An ending that was cut too bluntly. A new hope. After Patroclus kills a son of Priam and Troy is conquered, Patroclus and Achilles can return to life in Phthia. But something has changed; and between disapproving Thetis , arranged marriages, and confusion from onlookers, Achilles and Patroclus have new wars to face. Torn between love and fear of the truth, the men are forced to navigate their new lives; as war heroes in the conquest of Troy. (Please keep in mind some details will be inaccurate to the original Iliad as I've had to reimagine an ending for the Trojan war (without the wooden horse.) I have read the Iliad and taken classics classes so hopefully it will be as accurate as I can make it! I'm also going off Madeline Millers "The Song of Achilles" of course, and my characters are taken from there, not the original Illiad. This is also the first ever fic I've written!)

THERE IS A BIT OF SWEARING. This is the ship between Patroclus and Achilles of The Illiad. I still ship Achilles and Briseus but I thought these were funny and wanted to put them here. If you don't like the ship you don't have to read. None of the stuff is mine, I just thought some people might want to see it. There is also a little other stuff sprinkled throughout it. Two types of creatures, neither quite human, fight each other over a series of years in a post-apocalyptic world. One group wants the whole planet at any costs. The other group, trying to get on with their lives, is forced to fight just to survive. Who will win -- the army with the overwhelming force or the army that keeps changing their tactics in each encounter. A barbarian king awakens to the crowing of vultures on a desolate battle-field after a clash between two warrior clans to determine who would rule the land of Vyrcurias. His memory is fragmented, as he can only recall snippets of what happened leading up to the onslaught. Once a lavish king, Kyrthas now must wander the land in search of new purpose or perhaps to rebuild his fallen empire. So like I had to do this for a project in class- its basically a story form the illiad told from the chipmunks pov

"He was half of my soul, as the poets say." This is a work of added scenes to Madeline Miller's novel, The Song of Achilles. I wrote these after reading the novel, creating little moments I felt fitting in the real book. I hope you enjoy reading these figment of my imaginations as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Two undefeated armies. Ten days of midnight sun. A sharpshooter with a hot temper. A strategist addicted to success. A general with a grudge. A ten million dollar purse. This paintball war is about to get epic. This book is basically an Iliad AU where it's a paintball war. So, consider this therapy for reading Song of Achilles, you're welcome. Nobody dies, it's all good fun. If you're not here to have fun then find another story. The character names are changed, but most of the major characters show up if you're looking. I realize this is not how paintball tournaments work and I don't care, it's an Iliad AU, not an accurate look at the world of paintball. Trigger/Content warnings: some profanity, teenage level crude humor, some teenage sexuality, teenagers kiss on page that's it, some brief family problems discussed, a character has amnesia and the accident causing it is discussed. A character has a prosthetic limb, this is discusssed. Some violence towards animals in that the characters hunt.

Patroclus had followed Achilles to Troy, but not like so many thought because of his Oath as a suitor of the kidnapped Helen. His motives unclear even to his closest friend Achilles, he steered 10 ships towards Troy- and following his friend and love. Emotions running high in the camp as they lay siege on Troy, Patroclus takes risks and hot-headed Achilles is left to wonder- and wonder as Patroclus follows his heart for what seems like the first time in his life.
