And Shashank calm in the way only steady people can be, watched her like she was a puzzle he didn't want to solve too fast. She told him softly, "You don't have to be perfect here... just be real." And he answered in that low, steady way of his, "Good. Because I like you exactly the way you are." They weren't a storm. They were a slow-burning warmth - the kind that doesn't shout, but stays.
