Heads up! I did not design this cover. I got it from a YouTube video titled "Unhealthy Obsession" by americxne. The United States. Land of the free. Home of the brave. The world's sole (depending on the metric) superpower. She's untouchable. Strong. Fearless. But what if I told you that wasn't always the case? What if I told you America was once nothing more than a tiny collection of colonies ruled by an island across the sea? This is (part of) the story that shaped her. This is the tale of a girl who fought and bled for her freedom, who took the odds and threw them back in her ruler's face, war cries spilling from her chest. This is the story of the American Revolution.

Thousands of years in the future, our civilisation is just an ancient myth. Liana, a 13 year old girl lives in Seren-ila, a valley with a peaceful, sustainable culture, cut off from the rest of the world for hundreds of years. Her best friend, Herago, has an idea about how to show people things that are impossible. Liana dreams of another world outside her valley. Maybe that's where she will find her father, Ralkino, who disappeared when she was little. But neighbouring Bartyronis and its cruel, vain ruler, Tyro, have discovered Seren-ila. The Bartyronians invade, and Seren-ilians are enslaved. Liana and Herago fight back with humour, magic tricks, and dreams. Can children defeat a mighty empire? ***Children, or those reading for children: this story has been fully written, and will only have minor edits as chapters are posted. It will not peter out, nor end without a satisfactory resolution. But I warn you, it is long, and may become addictive as time goes on. *** ***Chapters will be added on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.*** ***Please add your comments, corrections and ideas as you read, and consider voting your approval if you enjoy the story.*** ****13th March 2021. I have decided to take most of this story down on April 30th 2021. If you still want to read or continue reading it, please contact me via my website www.redmagic.co.uk, and I will send you the full text of the book.****

Iceflare, the hero, created in a lab on Planet Kylo, accidently found himself in a war between the superpowers to take full control of their rare mineral, Xenotonium. The Russians came and went, but the Americans brought prosperity, enriching the Alexus species into different classes, building their infrastructure, and teaching them obedience with hot led. Everybody dealt the same faith, except the military with special privileges to murder at will. Iceflare, with his new ability to harness inferno blast, introduced himself to his superior with a taste of destruction. The superior (Marcellius) impressed by a study known to him as a failure, ventured to diplomatic alternatives to form a relationship with the resistance leader. With new powers, the temptation to label oneself as one of the Gods, Iceflare postponed his thoughts of fending off the superpowers. The humans weren't to be trusted, but their way of life needed further interrogation. The law of oligarchy dictated by individuals worthy of it persuaded Iceflare to study the unknown. Will his greed for power destroy the planet he loved, or would it destroy the species he swore to defend?

In a Solar System far away, there exists a planet where all of the inhabitants are deaf. They have evolved as a community over many millennia and are traders across their solar system. But when humanoids from other planets come telling them that their deafness is a disability and that they can make a lot of money if they get ear implants, the people on this planet must decide what to do. Is deafness their heritage? Or is it holding them back from joining the larger world? The story's main protagonist is Mist whose daughter wants to get the implant because other children are getting them. Mist has always been a fighter and already doesn't fit in because she doesn't fit into her husband's class. She is against the implants. However the rest of her husband's family is. The new change -- brought by outsiders-- will change not only Mist's family but a whole society as well. This story is my most honored, I think. It is taught in classes across the world, in the UK, the US, and in Poland. It was anthologized in the acclaimed anthology So Long Been Dreaming. It is about a world of deaf inhabitants who have to deal with the imperialist Federation.
