The best second line for any novel would be "and then the murders began," that's a fact. Picture it- all your favorite books with their first lines. Now take those lines and add "And then the murders began" as the second. I always loved doing that- I don't quite so much anymore. It doesn't make such a great second line for life, not after my life followed that same path- everything was great: hot boyfriend, tons of other friends...Yeah, it was great.
