Louis Harrow had always understood the quiet power of perception. At Westbridge High, reputation was everything-an invisible currency traded in glances across hallways and whispered conversations behind locker doors. Louis had mastered it. Effortlessly charming, selectively kind, and always just distant enough, he moved through school with the ease of someone who knew exactly how much of himself to reveal. And then there was Katie Ellison. She existed on the edges of everything-the kind of girl people noticed only long enough to dismiss. Her presence drew snickers, her silence invited cruelty, and whatever set her apart made her an easy target. While others laughed or looked away, Louis did something more dangerous: he noticed. Not openly. Not in ways that mattered. He saw the way she braced before the first insult, the flicker of hope in her eyes when someone spoke to her, quickly extinguished. He recognized the quiet strength it took for her to return each day. But recognition is not action. Louis told himself staying uninvolved was safer. Getting close to Katie meant risking everything he had built. And Louis Harrow did not take risks. Still, there were moments. A door held open when no one was watching. A book returned before anyone noticed it missing. A glance that lingered too long. He cared. Just not enough. Because caring meant choosing. It meant standing beside someone the world had already decided was unworthy. And Louis wasn't ready for that. Not until silence felt heavier than fear. Not until distance began to feel like regret. By the time he realized reputation meant nothing, it was too late. Katie Ellison-the girl he had almost chosen-was already slipping beyond his reach.

Tommy relaxes after a long night celebrating. Most people wouldn't consider the day they died a cause for celebration but most people aren't brought back to life. Even less are brought back with the ability, the curse, that Tommy now wields. This is an 800 word paranormal flash fiction I've been tagged to write by one of my fellow Wattpadders. The theme is Deathday - what a ghost (or other sentient dead thing) would celebrate in place of a birthday. The story itself is inspired by an idea I've had for a while but have only just started the outline. So consider it a teaser for an upcoming novella tentatively titled 'Guardian'. Highest Ranking - 337 in Paranormal 13/4/16

This story is not for the faint of heart. When Cleo reaches out to her best friend Adrian, she feels nothing. Literally. Suddenly, she is plummeted into a new world she refers to as The Nothingness, and is told that she must recreate the universe with only her imagination as a guide. But The Nothingness isn't as empty as it seems. Cryptic messages, evolving powers, and mind-bending decisions plague Cleo constantly. And hanging in the back of her mind is always the prospect of losing Adrian forever.... © 2013 Jayliana Marie

If only they could hear him. The Lusian Tragedy is a multi-book novel about the fictional city of Lusia, set in the early 1800s. It's a city in rubble after the inaction of their duke left many to starve and perish through the many years he neglected them. Citizens that remain are kept in check by the "Divinities", a sort of military police that answers directly to the duke himself and violently represses deviancy. Resisting the Divinites however, are multiple faction groups all vying for control over the limited food rations and area left in the city, sometimes picking fights with each other more often than with the Divinities. In a den in the east side, there is a group of ambitious faction members, who are reluctantly sprung into action to fight for their cause. Once the duke is gone, it can all go back to normal.

Aliyah Brooks is oddly the most popular girl in school. She isn't the head of the cheer squad. She gets volleyball but she is the cross-country captain.
