Inspired by a true experience...
She arrived early for her college exam-earlier than anyone else. No lights. No staff. Just silence. A boy warned her not to enter. She ignored it. But the deeper she went inside, the heavier the air became. What followed was strange, unexplainable... and it stayed with her long after she walked out. A presence. A conversation. A lingering question-was it real... or something beyond?
They say our college comes alive at night-but not in the way you'd expect.
The night shift peons talk in whispers. About them. The jinns. They say the college is home to more than just students. That after dark, figures roam the halls. That the prayer room... isn't always empty.
The back side of the college once housed a hospital during the time of independence. But before that? A graveyard. The board still hangs there-a silent witness to what once was. Now, the auditorium stands on the same land.
Some peons claim to have seen them. Others refuse to go beyond the gates before the Fajr azan. One even told me he joined a jamaat he saw already praying-only to glance at his watch mid-prayer and feel the chill of realization.
And me? I used to arrive as early as 4 a.m., just to see if I could catch a glimpse... a shadow... anything. I never did. But one day, something happened. Something so strange that I've never been able to forget.
Was it all in my head?
Or... was someone really there?
