A cozy fantasy-with teeth. Born a hybrid in a world that fears difference, 15-year-old Malora finds her haven in the fires of the forge and the science of potions. But when she earns a coveted spot at Vargrath Academy, she trades the quiet solitude of her village for a cutthroat world of merit-based competition. Navigating the complex social landscape of Vargrath proves even more challenging than mastering her dual disciplines. As Malora struggles to find her place, will she discover that true strength lies not in victory, but in forging unexpected friendships and breaking down the barriers that divide? "Look, I don't want to marry you and you don't want to marry me so, how about a week after we marry I go off to war and never return? Deal?" I sit there with my eyes wide. I never agreed to any of this royal stuff but I assume this is how it works. Christopher's charcoal black hair looked great in the light. Then his grey eyes sparkled against his tan skin. It was like the brightness from the dark. He stared at me waiting for an answer. "Move." She commanded, flipping her hair back in a careless manner. This was her table and everyone in this miserable school knew it. "Why?" He laughed, raising his eyebrows in annoyance as he looked up at the blond, blue eyed girl in front of him. "You gonna make me?" She gasped as he snatched her green apple that had been resting on her tray and stared at him wide eyed as he bit down on it. "Close your mouth." He said nonchalantly as he slid his leg over the bench. "Unless you're trying to catch some flies." "That was mine." She growled, slamming her (now)almost empty tray down on the table and narrowing her eyes at the brown haired insolent boy sitting in front of her. He looked up from the floor, his eyes wide in fake shock. He then spoke with his mouth full. "Oh you were going yo eat this?" She scoffed and placed her right hand on her hip, not diverting her eyes as her insides fumed with annoyance. "Here you go," He announced, placing the half eaten apple on the blue tray as he stood up. She backed away, and eyed the apple with revulsion. She then glared at the guy in the blue jean jacket. "Do you know who I am?" "Thank you for this wonderful chat your highness," He recited, his hand performing a wild gesture as he bowed down before her. "Its been literally a royal pain in the ass." He spun on his heel and walked away. She stared at his retreating figure, her mouth agape. No one had ever dared speak to her like that. He stopped just as she was about to fling her middle finger at his back. "What did I say about flies?" He barked, she rapidly shut her mouth. He laughed as he stared at her vibrant rage filled eyes. He then voiced, "Keep pretending to be something you're not Sabrina. Its working out great for you!" She fell down into the bench, her face pale and scared. He spoke as if he knew her, but why? Sabrina, nobody called her that anymore. That girl was long dead. Or that was she'd made everyone believe, even herself.

In a fractured kingdom ruled by greed and tradition, one man dared to rewrite the rules of power. Vaujilas was never meant to wear a crown. Born to a disgraced noble line, raised among factory smoke and fading memories of prestige, he seemed destined for obscurity. But when injustice corrodes the very soul of Montedelin's monarchy, and the people cry out for change, Vaujilas becomes something more than a man-he becomes a movement. Through smoke-filled taverns and echoing palace halls, he gathers allies: a loyal strategist haunted by honor, a bitter nobleman hungry for vengeance with a secret past, a quiet seamstress that has and a beautiful way with words. Together, they orchestrate a revolution not of chaos, but of calculated defiance-one that aims to rebuild, not just destroy. But toppling a crown is only the beginning. As Louvebourg rises from the ashes of an empire, Vaujilas must navigate a kingdom deeply divided: nobles clinging to the old order, foreign powers watching with wary eyes, and whispers of forbidden magic stirring in the shadows. Every decision he makes echoes through generations to come, shaping not just a government-but a national identity.
