A Glimpse of the Bygone Days ✨
This happened a few days ago when I was returning home from the office, as usual. It was around 4:30 in the evening. The sun was still blazing, and the traffic signal was testing everyone's patience with its long wait.
Next to me stopped a scooter. A young man, about 35 years old, was riding it, and behind him sat his father, around 65.
Just then, a small scene caught my attention. The young man was trying to maneuver his scooter through a narrow space but failed. His father scolded him - the scolding was stern. What surprised me was the son's reaction. Instead of arguing back, he quietly listened with patience and respect.
At that moment, our eyes met, and we exchanged a faint smile. As if the young man was silently saying, "Yes, I made a mistake, but my father's scolding is teaching me something valuable."
This was not just an ordinary moment; it carried a deeper message for today's generation - that we can learn so much from values like patience, respect, and humility.
If I compare it to the present times, I often notice that today's youth tend to answer back, and it has almost become normal. I must admit, even I am not untouched by this change. But that young man's silence and willingness to listen reminded me of the Indian values and traditions that we are gradually forgetting.
That small incident touched me deeply. It showed me the invisible threads of Indian culture that hold our relationships together - respect for parents, patience, and love. In today's fast-paced life, we often forget these values, yet they are the guiding light of our lives.
We must not only remember them but also pass them on to the generations to come.
Thank you. 🙏
