These are quotes and articles I came upon which inspired and continue to motivate me to write and eventually self-publish. I am not an authority in writing & self-publishing. But I'm putting these nuggets of wisdom that I discovered and collected here, in the hope that these will inspire and encourage others too, like they did to me.

Mira Sol arranges flowers for the dead. That's her job. She doesn't ask questions. She doesn't visit cemeteries. She just clicks buttons, sends flowers, and collects her paycheck. But when a strange order comes in-not for flowers, but for a package-Mira finds herself standing outside a high-security lab, delivering something that definitely isn't a bouquet. Then the sirens start blaring. The doors burst open. And something very, very hungry runs out. Now Mira has a problem. A big, bloodthirsty, possibly world-ending problem. The apocalypse is blooming, and guess who's stuck right in the middle of it?

Inaya Fathima Siddiqui grew up learning how to shrink herself. Losing her mother at ten and raised under the shadow of a cruel stepmother and a cold-eyed grandmother, her only escape was silence. Intelligent and soft-spoken, Inaya spent her teenage years surviving - until her world shifted with a single decision: an arranged marriage proposal from Zain Ahmed, her father's older cousin's son, nine years her senior. At first, he hesitated. But then... he made her believe. Inaya, naive and love-starved, fell - deeply, beautifully, blindly. What started as hope soon twisted into heartbreak. Zain disappeared from her life as quickly as he had entered it, only for Inaya to discover that he was engaged to someone else - the woman he truly loved. And still, she prayed. Still, she waited. Years later, when life gave her a second chance, she found that some hearts never return - and some girls grow strong in the ruins left behind. His Chanda, Her Ruin is a quiet romantic tragedy - aching, raw, and hauntingly real. A story of betrayal, unspoken prayers, and the strength it takes to walk away... even when your heart stays behind.

Initially, writing short stories was a hobby. It started soooooo many years ago in Jr High and continues to be a mix of Supernatural and Science Fiction. It's been quite a while since I wrote and drew one of my comic books, so the likes of Black Wolf and the Human Tank have been on a very long hiatus. Back then the digital age was still a few decades away from being the juggernaut it's become so the notion of publishing was little more than that to me. Now with the emergence of eBooks and self publishing, the dream of publication is quite plausible. The new challenge is the saturation of publications one now has to compete with. With that in mind, I've published these excerpts from my anthology here in Wattpad hoping to stir up some interest. As of now, Oct 2018, I have worked with my editor to complete 3 stories, she is working on the 4th and final. The goal is to publish before end of year, so more to come soon! If you like what you read, kindly vote for the excerpt and provide comment if so inclined. Thanks for the support!

"Everyone has a choice," he whispered. Jalissa's heart skipped a beat as she replied in a hushed tone, "And what are you choosing?" The air thickened between them, charged with unspoken truths and desires. Aaron breathed out, thick with want, and his gaze lingered on her lips. The rising heat on Jalissa's face mirrored the simmering tension in the room. "You," he confessed. "Well, that would certainly be a first," Jalissa mused, a hint of irony in her voice. --- Jalissa, a poised and accomplished young woman, has carved a niche for herself in the world of wedding planning. With unwavering confidence, she orchestrates the perfect ceremonies, ensuring that every bride, groom, and couple steps into the magic of their dreams. However, the irony of her success echoes in the saying, "Always the bridesmaid, never the bride." Jalissa, a closeted hopeless romantic, finds solace in her profession, yet questions if there might be more to the story. As a serial monogamist, Jalissa's well-ordered life takes an unexpected turn when a family obligation summons her back home. In the familiar surroundings of her past, old habits reawaken. The allure of temptation becomes irresistible, prompting her to question if her perfect match has been closer than she ever imagined - perhaps just a phone call away. Join Jalissa as she navigates the twists of fate, where the echoes of tradition clash with the allure of new possibilities. Will she succumb to the comfort of the familiar, or will she embrace the chance for a love story that defies the expectations she once held dear? In this journey of self-discovery, Jalissa must confront the age-old adage and unravel the mysteries of her heart.

Each week, I'll share a free chapter from one of my romantic fiction novels featuring Black men and women. This week, I'm sharing a chapter from Dinner at Sam's, a steamy forbidden Black romance about a woman who's just trying to get a divorce, not fall in love... and the attorney who wants to process her divorce and set her free. So she can start over with him. Pick up this title in ebook, print or audio directly from me or from your favorite retailer: https://geni.us/DinneratSams About this book: Vanessa Jackson is just trying to get her life together, not pick up a new man... and certainly not her divorce attorney. Life would be so much easier if she could divorce her ex, but Warren Jackson isn't ready to let go of the dancer he 'rescued' from a previous life. The youngest of four brothers at Kincaid Family law, Gibson is the rebel. He's never going to do what Sylvia "The Silver Shark" wants him to do. His career might implode before he has the chance to open his dream law firm, but come hell or high water, he's going to get his newest client divorced so she can start a new life... with him.
