I want you tell you the story of a game. A game we played. Me and The Father. A game I did not want to play. A game he made up. A game he forced on me. A game I learned. The game I won. I want to tell it to you differently from all the times I told to other people. The creature is almost a deity to the city, worshipped as a god would be. It's as if the city turned a blind eye to all the murdered bodies found within those ruins, including that of her late father, which made her horrendously angry. Many of the locals would constantly tell her to stay away from the ruins, that she had no right being so close to their 'Divine Highness'. But why was it that as the days passed, the ruins would draw her in more and more, calling for her to enter its hallowed halls? And who was the strange, albeit gorgeous, person watching her from the shadows as she left at dawn every night? (Big TW for gore, death, like one smut scene near the end of the book and also major angst across most of the book)
