Every child knows the name of history's greatest villain: Ravana. But if you dare to look beyond the ancient boundaries, a darker, more complex truth awaits. When King Ravana's uncontrollable lust drove him to violate Rambha-his own brother's daughter-in-law-the echoes of his crime shattered the core of his family. Disgusted and disillusioned by the heinous act, his brother Vibhishana abandoned him. His legendary son, Indrajit, heartbroken by his father's shameful behavior, renounced Lanka and set out on an unknown journey across the treacherous seas. But fate had other plans. A violent storm shattered his ship and washed him ashore-half-dead-at 'Atlit Yam'. Located on the coast of present-day Israel, it was an ancient city that met a tragic fate similar to our own Dwarka-it was swallowed forever by the waves of the sea. Rescued by Talia, the sister of a poor carpenter, Indrajit sought to rediscover his lost soul. He had a large and magnificent house built for her by the riverbank and secretly commissioned jewelry of the kind worn only by queens in Lanka, for he had fallen deeply in love with her. But just one night before the grand and magnificent housewarming ceremony, all his dreams were ruthlessly reduced to a heap of ashes. Meanwhile, back in India, a deadly game of vengeance was unfolding. Shurpanakha, harboring a lifelong hatred for her brother Ravana, orchestrated a brilliant deception. Faking a suicide attempt after her son's tragic death, she manipulated Rama and Sita into giving her shelter. But the moment her nose was severed, the stakes changed instantly. Ravana quickly realized the terrifying truth: this was no mere family feud. It was a divine trap laid by the gods, in which his vengeful sister was being used as a pawn to goad him into war. Sitting idle meant cowardice; striking blindly meant absolute ruin. Seeing no other way out, Ravana employed his ten minds and executed a brilliant move that stunned even the gods in heaven.

Mandavi was born a Rajkumari of Sankashya and raised in the court of Janak, where daughters were not taught silence. They were taught to question, to observe, and to demand answers. Then came the exile. When Ram, Rajkumar of Ayodhya, left for the forest with Sita and Lakshman, the exile did not belong only to those who went with him. It also belonged to those who remained behind. For fourteen years, they waited. Mandavi began those years as a sister and a wife - a young woman whose sister had been sent away for no fault of her own, and whose husband had chosen a harder path to atone for the sins of his house. But kingdoms do not pause for grief. While Rajkumars fulfilled their dharma in the forest, palaces still had to stand, households had to endure, and a kingdom had to be held together. By the time Ram returned, Ayodhya had changed. So had Mandavi. No longer only a sister, nor only a wife, she had become a daughter-in-law, a keeper of a fractured household, and a queen forged by waiting. This is the story of the exile as seen from the palace - of the woman history remembered only in passing, and of the fourteen years that changed her forever.

No, this is not about Sita and the magical deer. Disclaimer: This story is purely fanfiction and written solely for the purpose of entertainment. I do not intend to hurt anyone's feelings. The characters and setting are not owned by me. Alrighty, So for background information, the story takes place after the princes and princesses return from Mithila. Of course, they all are married now. And then comes the fictitious part. Indrajeet attacks Ayodhya, aided by the army from Lanka. The reason for this shall be later revealed in the story. And during the course of the battle, something happens that closely resembles a remake of the Shakti episode. Happy Reading! :)
