I felt sad and I decided to write a poem about my boyfriend's suicide attempt.. I'm so glad he's alive!! I made the poem about a girl and called her my best friend. My boyfriend was the inspiration

I think everyone has some sort of addiction- alcoholism, drugs, gambling, eating, exercise, shopping, sex, working, you name it I think we're all prone to at least one. We're only human after all, having a weakness is part of that. But I also reckon we've all got it in us, if we want it hard enough, to overcome and deal with our addictions, which is the ultimate test. That's what this poem's about :D

Sometimes you want to runaway, escape. Other times the problem isn't YOUR life but life in general. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves, expectations on each other, project judgments, high standards and overtime have created a society which has various rules, recommendations and regulations. We've defined what we think is 'normal' and created huge pressured to conform to that. It's amicable in a way, those who are prepared to be different, live a different lifestyle, break the mould and push boundaries. This one's about wanting to be free - enjoy!

I wrote this very recent poem about the fine line between taking a cheeky risk, occasional gamble indulging in the slightly wild and the danger of addiction, obsession and being completely consumed by something. I hope you enjoy!

Lottie Noon wants nothing more than be be a feared film critic. She has passed all her classes, submitted all the essays, worked her ass off, and now she's landed a dream job at The Orb. A prestigious film magazine, and her first job...the premiere of a children's movie. The year is 1997, the location is The Heart of Africa Zoo in San Diego, and Lottie is about to get more than she bargains for when she meets the star of the movie she is there to critique. Life is a wonderful journey we get to experience only once... so it is our responsibility to make it worthwhile; for we can't decide when to take birth or when to die but we can decide how to lead a happy life. This book contains all those true events that I have heard since childhood from people who have experienced them themselves as well as some poems that I have written. So shall we start on this journey of "Rediscovering" LIFE!?
