They say the eyes are the window to the soul, but for Violet a smile can tell all the worlds secrets. With a troubled past Violet intends to run from her demons but she just can't seem to get away. With a new girl in the picture, will she be able to move past her demons? Or will they continue to eat her alive?

(I only wrote this for a Young Writer's Comp. but decided against submitting it because it felt too personal. The comp. was 1000 words max. so that's why it's so short. In some ways, there are /small/ parts of this story which are true. Part of me wishes the whole thing was true but life's never that easy. I just wanted to get these feelings off my chest. I've had this piece stored on my USB for a while and now that my feelings have grown even more, I felt the need to share it so I don't feel somewhat alone. Enjoy). (P.S. With the holiday season upon her, Claire travelled abroad to Pittsburgh. Fate brought her not only to meet Rhein, a man she grew up with, but also to live in the same roof.
