Injustices storie

A young teenage girl, haunted by the memories of her father's execution, attempts to escape a cruel regime by night. A solitary woman, abandoned by her husband, inadvertently plays into the cruel hands of 'the state'. In another totalitarian regime a traffic light fixer is dealt with brutally for admiring a sunset. All these characters capture the essence of what it's like to be disempowered and cruelly dehumanised at the hands of a heinous, corrupt power. This sharp collection of pertinent short stories throws an at times uncomfortable light on cruelty, injustice and persecution that is all too relevant today. But ultimately these stories celebrate the strength and determination to survive at all costs, that exists within all of us.

Javi has always believed he is the flaw in his own story-the quiet mistake no one bothers to correct. Growing up in a world that seemed to discard him as easily as it noticed him, he learned to shrink himself, to expect less, and to leave before anyone else could. The truth about schools in the United Kingdom is hidden, the issue is not spoken of, issues regarding inequality and injustice in UK schools aren't sorted out appropriately. Children are faced with ignorance. I have wrote this book last year before I began year 11 with the hope to get the message across. This poem is dedicated to all the people who have been betrayed by the organizations that were supposed to protect them. It was inspired by a small instance where justice was not served, but as I started writing it, I realized that there are so many major injustices happening every day. I alone may not be able to stop these things from happening, but I hope my words will inspire others so that together, we can make a difference.
