Below One is a story I made for fun that was inspired by ENA (the series and the game).
It follows Zero, a guide positioned just beneath the upper tiers of a meticulously ordered yet deeply nonsensical universe. While higher authorities manage portals, permissions, and protocols, Zero's job is simpler-and harder: helping residents find their way through a system that rarely helps back.
As minor inconveniences escalate into structural problems, Zero finds herself repeatedly obstructed by an antagonist who follows every rule perfectly, yet somehow makes everything worse. There is no villain to defeat, only a system that insists on being used even when it fails.
Through repeated detours, delayed paths, and well-intentioned interference, Zero keeps things moving-not by breaking the system, but by working around it.
A story about guidance over authority, usefulness over rank, and why the most important position in a hierarchy might be the one no one thinks to look at.
