This story is set at the end of season 7 (Chicago PD) after Hailey comes back from working with the Feds in New York. Jay and Hailey have a connection like no other but what will happen after her return? How is she going to deal with someone from her past and is Jay going to help her get past it or is he going to turn his back on her? Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters. I know I have two unfinished stories and I'm starting yet another. Please forgive me, I'm stuck in a fog with those two and this idea has been kicking around in my head for about a week. It's going to be dark, much darker than what I normally write. I've also outlined it more than I have ever done with my other stories. Usually, I just write it as I go (which explains frequent episodes of writers block) and never really know for sure where the story will end up. This time I'm making sure I get it right. Now for what this is about. Of course it's Burzek! Though, it takes place during the beginning of their relationship and they are keeping it on the 'DL', that's about it as far as it being similar to the show. Fair warning, the language will be harsh and there will be violence and it may be hard to read. That's all I'm giving you, you'll have to read it.... Please let me know what you think as this isn't my usual style.

An Argus-eyed lad wallflower of Baltimore, Ian Syd Ermings, becomes the target of the sleuthhounds unit of CIA after he topped the sole midyear intelligence test of the university. His eccentric moves, vigilant eyes and penchant for quest are the main keypieces which made him to be very vital for the Sleuth Force. To accept the huge recruitment or not becomes his big dilemma as he continue to explore the land of Baltimore.

Jay and Will Halstead's sister, Athena, turns up after staying in the Rangers longer than Jay. Hank Voight hires her in his Intelligence unit and Athena and Jay finally get the time to catch up. They start reconnecting but Jay soon finds out about her hidden romance with none other than Antonio Dawson.

This story based on 2 years after Erin left to go to New York to take a job to keep Bunny out of jail. I kept Alvin Olinksey alive in the story as well. At first the connection between Jay and Erin is tense but they soon find their way back into each other's lives.
