An intermission. Some people know this as their break during a performance. But me? It's what I call my "private get away". Oh, don't get me wrong, I am no performer. It's just that it's where I'm in now, actually. What I call, atleast. Okay, honestly, I can't really tell; My life's pretty messed up. Both in a good and in a bad way. Why? I'll tell you. My story started when I ran away. I was lost. I found a dog. Almost got killed. And I found him. Correction: It was more like he found me.

Sponge needs to harness his powers, Bankfoot needs to rebuild his home, and Furytail needs to tell Zaletooth's legacy. Each, with their own reasons for chasing these gems, find themselves patching old wounds from the war. Three cursed merfolk, willing to cross into the soul worlds, know that they too shall perish without the presence of gems. Within the circles of their troubles, the three find themselves stuck with the choice of dying, or saving their people, and the choice is all theirs. There is something out there calling them, and when they find it, they'll return with their species' lifeblood; Ersboric gemstones. Fins Above: HOPE is an intermission of 24 chapters, which takes place between REUNION and FLIGHT. HOPE tells the lead up to the events of FLIGHT, and explores old parts of previous installments. Sponge, Furytail, and Bankfoot, the three cursed merfolk in a new prophecy realize that they have the power to aid their people, and when confronted with the grim reality that they will die without these gemstones, the three team up to venture into the planes of existence to find them.
