I was required to write two poems for a Black History Outreach event being held in a restaurant & lounge. I am to present two poems, one of Dr. Maya Angelou and one of myself. This poem is of me, more so my thoughts, and manner of thinking. Please do comments. Constructive criticism is more than welcome. Do Enjoy. This is my first published writing.

Life of the Samurai: Akira follows the journey of Akira, a boy orphaned by war, who grows into the legendary warrior known as the Crimson Ghost. Trained by a wandering swordsman, Akira becomes a feared ronin, cutting down enemies with ruthless precision. However, after a moment of hesitation during battle, he begins to question his violent path. Seeking redemption, he casts aside his sword, only to be hunted by the ghosts of his past. As he battles his inner demons and the forces that once employed him, Akira must confront the question: can a man built for war ever find peace?

We all know that these classic fairytales are so overdone. But what happens after the Happily Ever After? That always seems to be the mystery.

This is the story of a girl who believes she is becoming a monster. She has disconnected herself from society while still living in it. This is her story.

To overcome those who made you suffer in the endless conflict of life is an accomplishment that is yours and yours alone... and yet, they say it is not your right to judge those who damn you to worse fates than themselves. Sometimes your demons are right. It takes total conviction for peace of mind to come once more.

Some are personal experiences, while some are imaginary. All are how I feel and how I think, but is kept to myself, as I am afraid of how one thinks. That empty feeling when you realize that you can't feel anymore.

*This is my first ever story, and English is not my first language. This is a literal warning, lol.* Slade. The son of a legendary actor, walks the halls like they're his personal stage - collar popped, tie undone, a cigarette always tucked between his lips despite the school's rules. Charismatic and jaded, he's known as the womanizer who doesn't chase - he pulls. Rumors cling to him like smoke: whispered poetry, hearts broken behind closed doors, secrets he never denies. With his messy hair, leather jacket over a crumpled uniform, and that permanent smirk, Slade is equal parts danger and allure. Maeve. Maeve moves through the world like she's already seen too much of it - observant, unreadable, with a quiet defiance behind her eyes. She's the kind of girl who doesn't speak unless she means it, who watches more than she says, and who somehow makes silence feel louder than words. People notice her, but never fully know her - and that's exactly how she likes it. At school, she's known for being sharp, a little cold, and impossible to impress. But when Slade walks by, cigarette between his lips and chaos trailing behind him, there's a flicker she tries to bury. She liked him before everyone else did - and no one knows that.
