What happens when a pet gains a human conscience? For Kaito, it means the sudden, painful realization that the antics he once loved, the chirping, the clinging, the constant seeking of attention, might have been nothing more than a nuisance to the woman he cares about most. Transformed from a bird into a man by a stray spark of alchemy, Kaito is determined to be the perfect butler for Nerissa Ravencroft. He tries to trade his instincts for etiquette and his chaos for composure, convinced that his old self was a burden he must now outrun. But as he suppresses his nature to avoid being "annoying," he creates a distance that neither of them knows how to bridge. Kaito is learning the hardest lesson of being human: it isn't the chores or the training that are difficult, it's the fear that the more he acts like himself, the less he deserves to stay by her side. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The characters, world, and any referenced media do not belong to me. {MxMxMxM} "I'm everything I can't be, and I hate it. But I can't do anything about the situation I'm in, so I'll have to deal with it. " .... Tycho Black was struggling with a few things in his life, with no one to save him but himself. He didn't really care, though, considering it was easy to block out unwanted things. Whether it was thoughts, physical or emotional pain, or anything else-- at the end of the day, none of it mattered to him. He didn't care that he could possibly feel some sick attraction to men, even though he had never felt attraction before. He didn't care about going home and being met with nothing but fear. And he certainly didn't care about Alexei Abbots or the other older and mysterious men Alexei was associated with. Alexei, in particular, though, was just a little weasel that wouldn't leave his mind. He thought he could block him out like every other person, like every other male that made him think in such a bad way. But somehow, for the first time, he couldn't force himself to forget the expression on the boy's face when his fist collided roughly with his jaw. ~ Alexei Abbots was happy. Really, really happy. He was open, free, and accepted by the two best women he had ever met, who completely turned his life around. Not only was he welcomed with open arms by his two mothers, but he was also met with the arms of two men he had a mutual fondness for: Riley Worthright and Xavier Mendoza. He was on top of the world, and his not-so-gentle past wouldn't change that. Neither would Tycho Black, the aggressive bully on campus, who seemed to get off on being a homophobic a-hole.

Welcome to Beyond the Barricades-a story of love, sacrifice, courage, and impossible choices. ❀️ Team Love βš–οΈ Team Duty If you had to choose, what would it be? #BeyondTheBarricades #ElenaAndGabriel #LoveVsDuty #PoliticalRomance #SlowBurnRomance #WattpadPH

It started in 2008 with the death of my grandmother: every subsequent year came with at least one death. Most people write letters to the living. I, on the other hand? I write letters to the dead. π•΄π–’π–†π–Œπ–Žπ–“π–Š π–‡π–Šπ–Žπ–“π–Œ π–†π–‡π–‘π–Š 𝖙𝖔 π–˜π–Šπ–“π–‰ π–”π–“π–Š π–‹π–Žπ–“π–†π–‘ π–’π–Šπ–˜π–˜π–†π–Œπ–Š 𝖙𝖔 π–™π–π–Š π–•π–Šπ–—π–˜π–”π–“ π–žπ–”π–š π–‘π–”π–˜π–™. Every day, millions of people carry the heavy burden of the unsaid. "Letters You'll Never Read" (Working Title) is an intimate, structurally unique nonfiction collection that bridges the gap between our present reality and the ghosts of our past. Through raw, uncompromisingly honest pages, this project explores the universal landscape of grief, healing, and human connection. These letters move from traditional heartbreaks-such as letters to a parent who passed away-to the complicated, ambiguous grief of severed relationships. The collection features unvarnished communication to living individuals whom the author is entirely no-contact with, exploring the unique pain of mourning someone who is still alive. Balancing these personal reckonings are poignant entries to public figures, examining how cultural loss intertwines with private mourning. What separates this work from traditional memoirs is its immersive, voyeuristic format. By framing each chapter as a direct letter, readers step into a private room of thoughts, finding solace through solidarity. Steering clear of clinical language or forced positivity, this manuscript targets the evergreen memoir and grief-recovery market, appealing to readers of Joan Didion's "The Year of Magical Thinking" and Cheryl Strayed's "Tiny Beautiful Things". It provides comfort, companionship, and a roadmap for anyone navigating the quiet aftershocks of loss. //alt. title "Letters Unread" RANKINGS #26 in Prose - 8/7/26 #60 in Letters - 8/7/26 MY ARTISTS Title Headers: @Jaygrfx7 Others: Self Β© 2016-26

Two sad boys. Two broken hearts. One lie that feels like the only truth they've ever known. ------- In a city draped in fog and funeral hymns, two men - grief-worn, grudge-held, and emotionally barricaded - find themselves bound by a lie more convincing than either of them dares admit: they're in love. Soren doesn't believe in softness. Since his girlfriend's tragic death, he's been drifting, calcified into something cruel, obsessive, and utterly alone. He's the kind of man who'd rather destroy something good than watch it leave. And when the feelings he keeps buried start pointing at Jude, he tightens the screws instead of facing the truth. Jude doesn't believe in futures. He's a yearner too afraid to reach. A soul stitched together with apologies and art he'll never show. With a failed relationship behind him and too many secrets to keep, he's become a man who flinches when touched too gently and lives like a cautionary tale. Quiet, sardonic, and soft only for those closest to him , he writes poems he'll never share and looks at Soren like he wants him to ruin him. When a twist of cruel necessity forces them into a fake relationship, the lie begins as a shield. Just until the storm passes. Just until people stop asking questions. But what starts as performance becomes a mirror - cracking, splintering, reflecting truths neither of them are ready to hold. Not love. Not yet. But something raw. Something ruinous. Something real.
A story of rot and yearning, After We Wilted is a slow-burning descent into grief, guilt, and reluctant desire where even the most closed-off hearts might learn to beat again, if only by breaking.

Being conditioned in a state of isolation, whether it be through a voluntary form of action or something that's pushed by those who surrounds you, can have its varying effects. Independency, comfort, a strengthened mind, or perhaps a vulnerability to the deceiving actions of others that's merely filled with superficiality. Well, I suppose your misconception and act of perceiving a situation in a higher significant is your own fault as well. A poem about a foolish mind's state of disarray caused by a minuscule occurence.
