A retired pilot had thought she'd seen it all, until she's asked to become part of the first crew for a spaceship destined to land on a new planet. ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ Genevieve Autumn considered herself retired. She had served her time in the Air Force as a pilot, and in the Army as an officer. At least, she considered herself retired until she found herself on board the Patriot I, one of the first two spaceships to ever leave Earth. The Patriot I is a smaller, weaponized ship with a tough crew to escort the Pioneer, a ship full of humans meant to colonize the far-away planet Z-031. The main issue is that Z-031 is thousands of years away. Even with Earth's advanced technology, it will take three hundred years to arrive. The Pioneer is a Generational Ship, meant to survive in flight for so long. The Patriot is not. The crew will have to be cryogenically-frozen within the ship, asleep in flight for three centuries. As soon as Genevieve opens her eyes after centuries of being asleep, everything goes wrong. The crew remains asleep. The ship doesn't have enough power to sustain them. Her mind is turning against her with the side-effects of the cryogenic-freezing sleep. Lastly, there are enemies lurking just outside the hull of her ship. Genevieve is losing track of what is happening, but what she knows for sure is that none of it is what she signed up for. The Drift: a colorful metaphor for the empty space between stars and planets, more closely describing the ever-expanding nature of galaxies and the universe itself. As a colloquialism, it is typically used to reference the gravitational currents and eddies running through the bleak, black nothing. Tales from the Drift is a science-fantasy serial telling the story of an evolving galaxy that is fraught with as many dangers as it is wonders. I had lived on this fair planet for all of my 16 years in blissful ignorance. Until my 17th birthday, when I looked behind the curtain. When I discovered that my perfect world had never been perfect. You wouldn't expect me to stand by and do nothing, would you?

Snippet: 'A flick of the wrist, a rev and a skid, she barely missed the hallowed grounds. Looking over her shoulder, she noticed a second too late that her HUD was flashing. Vega smiled as chills ran down her spine while she felt the hover tilt below her, threatening to fall over. "C'mon," she urged the old thing. "Riot, we've been at this for a long time. I know you can do it." The side of the hover grinded against the railing, deep lines cutting into the battered form of the vehicle. Then with a thunk the sensors were back on the ground, swiftly recalibrating as Vega revved the engine once more. This time for real. The crowd went wild, and she looked up to see the drone camera following close on the tail of Riot, struggling to keep up with her through the harsh winds. Vega broke out into a wild grin, one of her hands finding the nearest switch on the dash and flicking it. She relished in the roar that echoed in her ears as the holo light show she'd programmed started up in the dust behind her, giving the characters enough substance to seem real. "Enjoy it while it lasts." ' Summary: Living from job to job with her crew, Vega knows that she needs to get another primary source of income, or she'll risk seeing a crucial part of the three clover, Comet, take off. But the wastes are tough, and they'll need to up their game in the universe-spanning races, if they want to take off with the grand price. The paths before them are all shattered as a new threat rises from the ashes, spurred by the spilling of the blood of the same monsters which have been hunted for so long. As new enemies rise, Vega finds herself entrenched in a new form of technology, one that has the power to alter the scales of power. With new loyalties gained and old ties broken, she must make her stand or be run over by the tides of the battle.

Though, Geopolitics on these worlds gave rise to independence movements as well as new conflicts never before seen in Human history.

as the Second Solar War ended in 2456, Kodiak would have fought all across the system from the Asteroid Hopping Front to the main front. He has at least 50,000 kills to his name, and was known as "The Spirit" by his men. He was such a dangerous man by 2476, and by this point he served as an important Spec Ops Agent, while also finally creating a business before all this, after serving for 26 years straight.
