Autumn Braxley a 24 year old interrogator at the department of magical law. Nothing is more important for her than her job. Except her husband of 2 years; Nicholas Miller. They loved each other so much, until now. Her love for him is decreasing because of the way he's been acting. Coming home late and with the stench of alcohol and using her is not the life she expected to have. The abuse that comes with it isn't better. She couldn't do anything about it because he always threatened her with the big secret he knew of her parents. She was dumb enough to tell him it in a moment of vulnerability. She always tries to keep him at bay and not anger him because she knows the consequences. Her life is a living hell. Until now. Draco Malfoy. A rude and irritating 27 year old wizard. He might have the money but there's no amount that will get him out of this. He might look like an unproblematic, hot rich guy that everyone wants, but that's not all. He's a murderer. He killed Autumns husband. Even though he did abuse her she still had a piece of her that still loved him. Most of them think he's a psycho for the way he killed him but he has his reasons. They've finally caught him and put in the hands of the best interrogator in the Wizarding world. Autumn. ⚠︎︎⚠︎︎⚠︎︎⚠︎︎⚠︎︎⚠︎︎⚠︎︎⚠︎︎ "Why'd you do it?" I said with a shaky voice, my nails digging into my skin painfully as I waited for him to finally speak. A small smirk painted his face as he looked straight into my eyes. By sunrise, the queen was dead. They found Chloe Monroe's body behind the football bleachers-her signature pink nails caked with dirt, her phone shattered beside her like glass promises. The police said it was murder. The students said it was karma. At Crescent High, Chloe wasn't just popular-she was power wrapped in perfume and cruelty. The kind of girl who smiled at you just before she ruined your life. She could make someone disappear from the social food chain with a single rumor, and she loved doing it. But beneath the perfect hair, the designer bags, and the fake apologies, Chloe had built herself an army of enemies. Everyone had a story, a reason, a scar. A girl she exposed. A boy she humiliated. A friend she betrayed. A teacher she made loose his job. So when word spread that she was gone, nobody cried. Not really. They whispered. They speculated. Some even smiled. Because in Crescent High, everyone hated Chloe Monroe. The only mystery left- was who hated her enough to kill her. ★.·.·.·.★.·.·.·.·★ IMPRESSIVE RANKINGS: #1 in Solve, Solving, highschool mystery thriller and teen thriller all in December 2025 #1 in SOLVE 23/12/25 #2 in CASE 26/12/25 #2 in SOLVING 27/12/25 #2 in INTERROGATION 27/12/25 #1 in TEEN THRILLER 18/01/26 #8 in WHODUNNIT 14/02/26

A short story written for the Furious Fiction Competition with these guidelines: We're giving you three lines of dialogue from three famous books. And we want you to somehow put them ALL into your original story! Your three lines of dialogue are: "It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution." "He's never done anything like this before." "What's it going to be then, eh?" The three pieces of dialogue can appear anywhere in your story.
