Every year, 5 teenagers go missing, no one knows where and no one knows how, all that's left is the three hidden words left by the stone guardians, "in the woods." No one knows except for me, I'm Adam Waters and I've been in the woods for nearly three years now, there's 15 of us, we hunt, trap, and fight to survive. We wonder how long this will go on for, and how we will in the end escape. If we escape.

But was she? As the days blurred together, strange things began to happen. The electrician hired to fix the persistent power issue couldn't find a fault and, after his final visit, simply vanished. the life of an family

5 months. It's been 5 long months since Jessah Michaels last saw her husband and he made the choice of work over their family. And weeks since anyone else has heard from him. Months since she'd left her home and moved to get away from the troubles that wouldn't stay away, and hide in the woods far from home in a town no one knows her or anything about her. Months of trying to get a new normal that has never came and just keeps getting lonelier. This new normal isn't what she wants for the rest of her life. Months of trying to be strong for everyone else and hide from the people around her how she's really feeling. She's taken in a kid who doesn't belong to her, a best friend who she can't let know anything, and has never felt this alone in her life. Jessah soon finds out life as she knows it will never be the same and some secrets are best left uncovered. ©2020

The woods are basically the 'hiding spot' for Serena, Jacob, Cara, and Asher. It helps them escape reality for a while and live in their own fantasy worlds. They had their own problems to deal with so they were quite the introverts, however, together they seemed much more than just a group of teens hanging out. Everything was about fine until that one day when the unexpected happened and their reality and fantasy couldn't be differentiated.
