Originally a flash fiction piece for world water day 2020 prompt, I've expanded the piece into a short story.

"Where do you think you're going, little girl?" I gasped as I felt his cold arms wrap around my body. Resting his head on my shoulder, he breathed into my ear. "You can't run away forever." "I'm not running away." I hissed. "Then, what are you doing?" He kissed my shoulder. "I'm burying you."

The world is in ruins. There is no land left on planet Earth, and humans have adapted to live under water in air domes. At first, 17 year old Tate goes along with everything the government says, until his mindset is changed forever. Now he is on a mission with his best friend Violet, trying to unlock the secrets of the council. Will Tate and Violet ever find dry land?
